Inspiring generations on the Day After Tomorrow - Youth Tour 2023

World

The GoaL

Traditional education only goes so far. The curriculum and university can't show what 'in-the-field' innovation look like. What traits do entrepreneurs have? What are their challenges and how are they tackling them? How can professionals and their children learn how their futures will unfold?

The Solution

Together with moderators Peter Hinssen & Koenraad Belsack, we built a 3-day program to meet companies and individuals actively changing the future. We wanted a healthy mix of corporate and startups, to inspire young and old in learning new stories.

The Program

We decided to provide a broad spectrum of topics that fit under the umbrella term that is Web3.

  • Day 0: Evening get-together with food, drinks and an opening session by Peter Hinssen.
  • Day 1: We started the program at EY, learning of their young graduates program. Then we had a workshop session in their 'wavespace center', where we had to challenge ourselves to think like EY management and solve hard problems. Youth ambassador Jack Parsons also visited.
In the afternoon, we went to building robotics startup AuAr, and finished the day with airspace venture capitalist Glenn Morgan & Founder of Generation Climate Europe Agata Meysner.
  • Day 2: An early morning with Lewis Dartnell, author of The Knowledge. Then we visited Belgian entrepreneur Gauthier Van Malderen, CEO of Perlego, an online subscription for all your academic books. More visits in the afternoon, as we went to meet the founder and CEO of Streetbees, Tugce Bulut. We finished with a keynote by young techie Simon Wijckmans and some impressive VR games.
  • Day 3: For the last day, we kicked it off in a comedy club. A keynote from Leo Olsson (viral TikTok'er), a roundtable by young techies and a keynote from Seedcamp (angel fund) filled our morning. A final keynote by serial entrepreneur Irra Ariella Khi in the afternoon and a wrap up on a Big Red London Bus with high tea.

The Impact

Our NPS score for this tour was 9.2

Participants raved about how connected they felt, and the youth was incredibly grateful for getting inspired all week. They reported they felt better informed in making important decisions on their future. Among them, they connected and shared ideas, challenges and fortunes.
